What to bring/wear:
Tusenårsvarden and Frænavarden are a short distance from Molde, around 500 m.a.s.l. You will hike for 2-4 hours, enjoy the view over Molde fjord and city.
Troll Church 484 m.a.s.l. is a limestone cave in the mountains with underground rivers and waterfalls. You can extend your hike and walk all the way up and over Trolltindene 840 m.a.s.l. It is a little steep but the view from the top is worth it. We call it a mini Romsdalseggen hike because you will walk over the mountain ridge.
Mardalsfossen is Northern Europe`s highest waterfall, 297 m free fall, a total of 655 m. You can go right up to the waterfall and get a decent shower. It is not so much hiking to the waterfall, it is a nice walk and suitable for people who are not so fit or for your lazy days. But driving more up to Aursjøvegen there are several 180-degree hairpin turns and dramatic nature that might take your breath away. The trip from the fertile Eikesdalen valley, with steep mountains on each side, up to the high mountains with their open and magnificent landscape is beautiful. That trip is available only from June 20-August 20.
Litlefjellet 790 m.a.s.l. is a great and very light version of Romsdalseggen. You have to walk up only 20-30 minutes.
Romsdalseggen is for advanced hikers. It takes 9-10 hours to hike over the mountain ridge. During your trip, you have a fantastic viewing arena with views over the mountains and the most distinctive peaks. The hike is 10 km long, and the height difference is about 970 meters. It is airy, but a breathtaking experience standing on top of the ridge. People with a mild degree of fear of heights will, with a good companion to lean on, manage to get through the toughest part of the hike. It is also possible to go from the opposite direction to avoid the toughest part of the hike. Then the hike is much shorter and easier.
Jendemsfjellet, 633 m.a.s.l. a pyramid-shaped mountain near Molde with a breathtaking 360-degree view is a 6 km hike with some steep parts on the top.
