Yoga & Hiking Retreat in Norway - 7 days

Hike through Norway’s mountains with breathtaking fjord views, practice daily yoga, and enjoy a balanced week of movement, nature, and deep reset.

Overview:

Take a break from your everyday life and step into the wild beauty of Norway.

Breathe fresh mountain air, move your body, and slow down in nature surrounded by fjords, mountains, and open landscapes. This retreat is a balanced combination of hiking, yoga, and genuine connection – with yourself and with others.

You don’t need to be an advanced yogi or an experienced hiker to join. The focus is not on performance, but on how you feel.

Is this retreat for you?

This retreat is for you if:

  • You want to travel alone but not feel alone
  • You enjoy nature and being active outdoors
  • You like yoga, but don’t need to be advanced
  • You want a mix of movement, rest, and connection
  • You feel like you need a reset from everyday life

This retreat may not be for you if:

  • You don’t enjoy walking in nature
  • You expect a luxury spa holiday
  • You are looking for a party or nightlife
What to expect physically
  • Daily hikes: approx. 5–10 km (3-6 miles)
  • Pace: relaxed, with plenty of breaks
  • Some days offer shorter or longer options
  • Elevation gain 300-650 m (1000-2100 feet)

You don’t need to be super fit, but it’s important to know that we hike in real nature — not on paved paths.

The trails go up and down the mountains and can include rocks, tree roots, uneven terrain, and occasionally muddy sections. These are typical Norwegian hiking trails — natural, well used by locals and far from crowded - offering a more authentic Norwegian hiking experience.

For locals, these hikes are considered easy or moderate, and even children often join. However, if you’re mostly used to walking on flat, paved surfaces, it may feel more challenging at first.

That’s why we hike at a relaxed, mindful pace, with plenty of breaks. There’s no rush, no competition — and with a positive mindset, everyone is able to complete the hikes.

Experience of hiking in Norway here.

How you’ll feel after

You’ll likely feel a healthy physical tiredness — the kind that comes from moving your body in nature, hiking up and down mountains, and being active throughout the day.

This kind of fatigue is not overwhelming or harmful — it’s grounding and deeply satisfying. Many people notice their strength and stamina improving already during the retreat.

At the same time, your mind begins to slow down.
If you arrive with a busy head full of thoughts, stress, or worries, the combination of physical movement and mindful presence in nature helps to clear mental clutter.

Many guests also notice a quiet sense of gratitude emerging — for simple things like fresh air, a strong body, meaningful conversations, and time away from everyday pressures.

By the end of the retreat, most people feel calmer, more focused, and more connected — both to themselves and to the present moment.

Program:

Day 1, Friday
Arrival day: You will be picked up from the airport, settled into accommodation, introduced to the program, meet other guests, and attend the opening ceremony and welcome dinner.
Book your flight upon arrival in Molde no later than 5:50 pm.
Day 2, Saturday
Energizing morning yoga and pranayama sessions, breakfast at the hotel buffet, and a packed lunch.
Hiking Tusenårsvarden 523 m.a.s.l. or Varden viewpoint 407 m.a.s.l. 6-10 km. Swimming in the mountain lake.
After the hike, we return to the yoga studio for an afternoon yin yoga session, then have dinner at a local restaurant or cafe.
Day 3, Sunday
Strengthening morning yoga session, followed by breakfast and a packed lunch.
Troll Church hike 484 m.a.s.l. Consists of three exciting limestone and marble grottos with underground streams and a beautiful waterfall. On the surface, to the west of the uppermost cave is a lake with white marble "jetties". Braver hikers can swim in the mountain lake. The mountain behind the Trolls' church is distinctive, with jagged points and spires. Sometimes we hike only to the caves and the lake, 8 km, but with real adventurers we hike further over the mountain ridge (832 m.a.s.l.) and make a loop back to the caves. Guests can choose how long they want to hike this day. After the hike, we return for a restorative yoga session and a delicious meal at the local restaurant.
Day 4, Monday
Morning yoga, followed by breakfast and a packed lunch.
Jendemsfjellet (633 m.a.s.l.) is a mountain near Molde with a breathtaking 360-degree view over the fjords and mountains. We can choose between a shorter or longer 4-6 km trail. A floating sauna with a cold plunge altogether helps to restore your body and mind. Dinner on your own or together with other participants in a local restaurant.
Day 5, Tuesday
Morning yoga, breakfast, and a packed lunch, followed by a ferry trip to the small island of Otrøya. Here we can choose between 2 hikes: Midsund Stairs with Rørsethornet 659 m.a.s.l. (3292 steps) or Digergubben 527 m.a.s.l. Built just a few years ago by local enthusiasts and Nepali sherpas, it was created to attract hikers and tourists eager for big views and even bigger outdoor experiences. After the hike, we return to the yoga studio for an afternoon yin/ restorative yoga session, then have dinner at a local restaurant or cafe.
Day 6, Wednesday
After morning yoga, breakfast, and a packed lunch, we take off on a road trip to the Atlantic Road.
The Atlantic Road has National Tourist Route status, and the entire stretch between Bud and Kristiansund offers a continuous experience of coastal scenery, culture, and history. In 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian hailed the road that crosses this “infamous stretch of the ocean” as the world’s best road trip. The 8.3 km (5 miles) road, with eight bridges totaling 891 meters, is built on several small islands and skerries and spans several landfills.
We will hike Sjurvarden at 667 m.a.s.l if the weather allows. If not, we will take an 8 km coastal walk. The mountain stretches to the sea, offering a sweeping view of Hustadvika, the Atlantic Ocean, and the coastal landscape from Sunnmøre in the west to Smøla on Nordmøre in the north.
Closing ceremony and dinner altogether at the local restaurant.
Day 7, Thursday
Morning yoga and breakfast.
All good things must end, but only until next time! We will transfer you to the airport and say goodbye!

Depending on participants' comfort and fitness level and the weather, this itinerary is subject to change.

Other options for hiking are:
Midsund Stairs or  Digerguben (4  km,  465  m  elevation  gain)
Litle-Oksen and Rødven Stave Church
Herjevatnet (10 km walk around the lake)
Horja (Horga) 9,7 km, 515 m elevation gain
Trollstiegen, or the Troll ladder/road, is a famous mountain road with narrow curves and sharp hairpin bends. The road has 11 hairpin curves and an elevation of 850 m. Every bend has its name. The road is narrow with a 9% gradient. An impressive bridge of natural stone carries it across the Stigfossen waterfall, one of Norway's most beautiful waterfalls. Stigfossen is an unregulated and powerful waterfall with a total height of 240 m, from which 180 m is almost a single drop. Guests can choose whether to drive up or hike. Kløvstien hike - the path is preserved as cultural heritage, and much effort has been put into maintaining it.
